Advocacy Guru to Speak

Does your library need more local funding?  Then you will want to attend FOGL’s fall program, with nationally known “Advocacy Guru,” Stephanie Vance!   Join other Friends and advocates for “Grassroots Advocacy: Shaking the Money Tree” on Friday, November 16, 2007, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Decatur Public Library.

Stephanie freely admits her “guru” title is self-proclaimed, but those who have heard her speak know that she lives up to her reputation—and more!  You can see a clip of Stephanie in action at her Web site, www.advocacyguru.com.  The FOGL workshop will give you tools you can use with your local officials to increase your library’s community support.

Do you tell others about FOGL?  It’s a really easy way to multiply your advocacy efforts for libraries! 

• Bring a friend to the fall FOGL program. 
• E-mail your contacts who also love libraries and point them to the FOGL Web site, www.georgia-friends.org. 
• Take membership forms to your next Friends of the Library meeting.

Individual dues are only $10 per year and include discounts on workshop registration, a listserv for breaking legislative news and information about libraries, and opportunities to network with other Friends and advocates throughout the state.
